Deerfoot in the spring throws gravel at everything. A chip the size of a pencil eraser costs $50 to fix today. Left alone through one cold snap it becomes a crack, and a crack is a new windshield.
Pricing
Twenty minutes per chip. We come to your driveway or your workplace parking lot, and inside Calgary there is no call-out fee on top of these prices.
Past 15 cm we stop quoting repairs. The resin will hold the crack, but the repair line sits across your sight line and the glass never gets its strength back. At that length the honest answer is a new windshield.

Usually repairable
A chip smaller than a toonie. A single crack shorter than 15 cm, roughly six inches. Damage in the outer layer of the glass only. Damage away from the edge and out of the driver's direct sight line.
Usually not
Anything that has reached the edge of the windshield, because the edge is where the glass carries load. A crack longer than 15 cm. A chip directly in front of the driver, where the repair leaves a small distortion. Damage that has gone through to the inner layer.
What a repair actually does
Resin is drawn into the break under vacuum and cured under UV. It restores the strength of the glass and stops it spreading, though the mark does not disappear.
Before we get to you
Keep water and dirt out of the break until we arrive, and go easy on the defroster against a cold windshield.
Warranty
If a chip we repaired spreads into a crack, the cost of the repair comes off the price of the replacement.
